~Our Last Day of School~

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my job? I really do enjoy going to work everyday (finally after 10 years). I work with a wonderful group of people. I have the opportunity to teach kids who WANT to learn & I have parents who appreciate what I do.

Today the 4th graders (Heather's grade) put on a Thanksgiving program and it was wonderful! They sang some songs they've learned in music (which I think is Heather's favorite class).

Jed's class had their Thanksgiving feast & I think he had a great time. He requested Eclair Pie, so that's what he took.

Anyways, we had a great day!

Houston....We have a STOVE!!!!

Hello something MUST be wrong with me~to be excited about my new stove. It looks so pretty in my kitchen. I'm so glad I married a handy man or it would still be sitting in the garage!

A Challenage...

The missionaries from our Church challenaged us to study the Atonement for a week. Of course I've been a total slacker, but have decided to take them up on their challenage. The first thing I read was this from our Church website article

Very interested & very powerful! So I am passing my challenge onto you & then we can discuss. I am not sure what I'll read tomorrow night, but it will probably be one of the listed articles from the above link.

HEHE~I was up this morning and didn't have to rush~the radio was giving away a family pack for the Festival of Lights in Galveston!

and I WON!!!!! I'm so excited! And I think the kids will be too~(Tyson might be a different story!)

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!

Yep~One more year & I'll be on the downhill side to the big 40!!!! HAHA!!!

Today was my birthday for my close friends who read my blog and didn't know! Haha!!!

The day started off with Tyson telling me Happy Birthday before he left for work! (I'm surprised he remembered!)

Then when I woke Heather up for school we had this conversation~

H: Momma
A: What?
H: Happy Birthday
A: Thanks baby!

Surprise #2~I'm surprise she remembered! haha

Then I get to school and one of my sweet students brought me these:


Her mom just had a baby yesterday & I just couldn't believe how thoughtful she was to even remember my birthday!

Then several different co-workers (many who I don't have to deal with on daily basis)
wished me a Happy Birthday as I was going down the hall. Then the Reading Recovery teachers came to my door and sang to me!

Then my mom called and wished me a Happy Birthday!

Then the day went on~during conference period we had a grade level meeting (which we have every Tuesday) and my co-teachers brought several different snacks! And one lady (my quilting friend) gave me a special pair of scissors to help with my quilting projects.

So then at lunch my good friend Rachella brought me a yummy Kickin' Chicken Salad from our favorite place,



I haven't had it in a long time and it sure was yummy!!! Rachella also bought me this cute ID holder from Sam Moon's. I'll have to take a picture of it! It is so cute and I receieved so many compliments on it.

Then after we got back from recess the office called and said I had a parent waiting on me~I got a little nervous b/c I wasn't expecting a parent conference or anything.
The office sends her to my room and she brings this




(it was sooooo yummy too!) She made it b/c her little girl wanted to bring me a cake! :)

Then I came home and Tyson & the kids sang Happy birthday to me & the kids had made cards for me. Then my friend Sunshine brought this over~



If you can figure out what she made this out of~I'll send you a prize!

Then I got a call from Tyson's aunt, Tyson's mom & my sister Alison!

I'm going to pick one of these out for my house for my birthday present, but can't decide which one What do you think?

this one would go next to the entertainment center for right now under some pictures, but hopefully after the first of the year we will be getting a TV to hang on the wall so it would probably go under that~it could go in my entry but I'm afraid the kids will knock anything I put on it off and it would be broken. So give me your design suggestions.


It was actually pretty good having a birthday this year! Thanks to all my wonderful family and friends who helped make it very special!

All I can say is the devil made me do it! I searched online for a tutorial on how to do it & downloaded PSE 6.0 (free trial) and created the above layout.

I'm quite impressed with myself.
